The arumã grows by wrapping. Its leaves fold around whatever they reach — a fruit, a stem, one another — and the people of the forest read that instinct centuries ago, weaving the same leaves into baskets that hold without a single knot.
Nothing in the plant stands on its own. Everything is held by something that grew up next to it.
Here the silver folds in around a green agate the way the leaf folds around the fruit — not to show it off, to keep it.
The frame was never the decoration. The frame was always the point.
